Hermann Faul

Hermann Faul (born October 20, 1949 in Nördlingen ) is Lord Mayor of the large district town of Nördlingen.

Life and work

Born in Nördlingen, Hermann Faul, married with two children, was employed in the police force for nearly four decades, first with the Nördlingen city police and then with the Free State of Bavaria . Until his election as Lord Mayor of Nördlingen, he was the first police chief inspector and head of the police station in Donauwörth . In addition to his professional activity, he has always been active in politics and in sports and social institutions for many years. As the church council of the St. Georg parish, he has been strongly committed to the interests of the Evangelical Lutheran parish in Nördlingen since 1994. In addition, he was for many years an assessor in the handball district of Swabia and for many years head of the handball department at TSV 1861 Nördlingen .

Political career

In 1990 Hermann Faul was elected to the city council of Nördlingen. He headed the PWG parliamentary group as a group spokesman and was a member of many committees. He is also a district councilor in the district council of the Donau-Ries district . In 2006 he ran for mayor and won against the CSU applicant Peter Schiele with 67.25% of all votes. As Lord Mayor, he has been politically responsible for his hometown since 2006, but also for the Nördlingen United Charitable Foundation and the Nördlingen public utility company. In addition, he is deputy chairman of the board of directors in the joint municipal company of the Donau-Ries clinics and retirement homes, chairman of the board of directors of Sparkasse Nördlingen , deputy chairman of the Technologie Centrum Westbayern GmbH, permanent member of the main committee Ferienland Donau-Ries, member of the district membership committee and health committee of the Bavarian City Council as well as other political ones and social associations. Hermann Faul is still doing voluntary work and is particularly closely associated with TSV 1861 Nördlingen .

On March 11, 2012, Faul was re-elected. He prevailed with 78.8% of the vote against his only competitor Rudolf Koukol ( Alliance 90 / The Greens ).

Honors

In 2008, in the Canadian city of Markham , Nördlingen's twin town, a memorial stone was placed for Lazy on the “Walk of Fame” in the Unionville district.
