Hermann Hummels (born September 29, 1959 in Hamm ) is a former German soccer player and coach . He is the father of the German soccer players Mats and Jonas Hummels and works as a consultant.
Career
Player career
Hermann Hummels began playing football in the south of Hammer at Ssg Hamm (since the merger with Post SuS Hamm: SSV Hamm 1905/06). For A-youth he moved to Hammer Spielvereinigung 03/04 and started in the senior division in 1978/79 in the national league. After promotion to the league he played until 1982 in the league team of the Hammer Spielvereinigung.
For the round of 1982/83 the former amateur footballer of Hammer SpVg signed a license player contract with the promoted player in the 2nd division , TuS Schloß Neuhaus . Hummels played eleven league games for the team of coach Fritz Grösche . In 1983 he moved from the predecessor club of SC Paderborn to FV Bad Honnef . After two seasons, Hummels went to Bonner SC , but returned to Bad Honnef after three seasons in the BSC jersey . There he ended his playing career in 1990.
Coaching career
From January 8 to November 5, 1991 Hummels was a coach at the Hessian league club SV Wehen .
From October 1994 to April 1995 he briefly coached the then second division club 1. FSV Mainz 05 as the successor to Josip Kuže . One of his players at the time was Jürgen Klopp . Hummels later worked for a long time as a youth coach at Bayern Munich , where he worked as a youth coordinator until June 30, 2012.
Activity as a consultant
Hummels works as a consultant for football players in his own company, HMH-Sportmanagement. Among other things, he looks after his son Mats.
Private
Hermann Hummels was married to sports reporter Ulla Holthoff until 1996 . Their sons Mats (* 1988) and Jonas (* 1990) both became professional football players. He has been married to Marion for the second time since 2005.
