Fritz Grösche (born October 3, 1941 ; † October 24, 2010 ) was a German football player and coach who trained, among other things, TuS Schloss Neuhaus in the 2nd Bundesliga .

Career

Groesche played in the Oberliga West for SV Sodingen . On November 6, 1960 he made his debut in the 2-1 against Rot-Weiss Oberhausen for Sodingen in the Oberliga West. Between 1960 and 1962 he played 16 games in the Oberliga West for Sodingen in which he scored 1 goal. In 1962 he was relegated with Sodingen from the league. At Westfalia Herne in the Football Regionalliga West , Grösche completed 53 league games from 1965 to 1968 for the team from the Stadion am Schloss Strünkede , scoring four goals. In the first two rounds he got to know Herbert Burdenski's coaching work alongside fellow players Wolfgang Scheid , Kurt Gehlisch , Friedhelm Dick , Günter Graetsch , Gerd Knoth and Horst Wandolek . After his third regional league season, 1967/68, Westfalia rose with coach Fritz Pliska as the table penultimate in the amateur camp. The mostly half-striker and outside runner playing Grösche was also active at Minden 05 in the Association League, where Hans Labjuhn brought him to the Association League Westphalia after Minden's ascent in 1969. He was also active as a player at SV Sodingen before he coached some clubs from East Westphalia after his active career . Grösche was the first coach of the fusion club FC Gütersloh, founded in 1978 . With TuS Schloß Neuhaus he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga in 1982 and worked there as a second division coach in the 1982/83 preliminary round. His other positions were Arminia Bielefeld , Ahlener SV, SpVg Beckum , FC Gütersloh (where he also worked as a sporting director and team boss), SC Paderborn 07 and SC Verl . He was under contract three times at the sports club and led the team into the third-class league at the time.

Grösche was considered a tough but always fair coach. So he was nicknamed "The Iron Fritz". Despite suffering from cancer and a later heart operation, he continued to watch football. Grösche is one of the most successful trainers in the region.
