Hermann IX. (To bathe)
Hermann IX. von Baden († April 13, 1353 ) was the ruling margrave of Baden zu Eberstein .
Life
He was the son of Margrave Friedrich II of Baden and his first wife Agnes von Weinsberg († May 3, 1320). When his father died in 1333, he succeeded him as Margrave of Baden zu Eberstein, d. H. the part of the margravate that his father had received as part of the division of the country.
In 1334 he handed over the Iburg to his uncle, Margrave Rudolf IV of Baden († 1348), who had received the Pforzheim part of the margraviate when the country was divided. In 1350, Hermann was enfeoffed again with the Iburg by King Charles IV . Also in 1350 he bought the village of Mörsch back from the Herrenalb monastery after Rudolf had sold it to the monastery on July 20, 1306 on condition that the right of repurchase was granted.
He married Matilde von Vaihingen before June 3, 1341 († April 13, 1381?). With her he had a son, Friedrich IV. , Who died before him, so that when Hermann died in 1353 his cousin, Rudolf VI. who succeeded.
Hermann was buried in the Lichtenthal monastery.
