Hermann Koechling

Hermann Koechling (born September 7, 1867 in Werl ; † 1936 ) was a German lawyer and notary.

Life

Koechling came from a family rooted in the Ruhr area and especially in Bochum . His father was the Bochum judicial advisor Arnold Koechling, his grandfather the judicial advisor and first honorary citizen of Bochum Hermann Schultz (1805–1886) and his uncle the politician Hugo Schultz .

After graduating from high school , he initially served as a one-year volunteer with the 2nd field artillery regiment "Horn" of the Bavarian Army in Würzburg. He then studied at the universities of Würzburg , Berlin and Bonn law . In 1888 he became a member of the Corps Nassovia Würzburg . In the same year he joined the Corps Normannia Berlin . In 1896 he passed the second state examination . In 1898 he settled in Bochum as a lawyer and later as a lawyer and notary . In 1911 he took leave of the field artillery regiment No. 8 as captain of the reserve , reported again as a volunteer at the outbreak of the First World War and was promoted to major of the reserve at the end of the war .

For many years Koechling was chairman of the Bochumer Gesellschaft Harmonie , a civil society founded in 1817 and still in existence today.
