An heiress, Hetty Raymond, runs a large iron and steel mine after the death of her father. Since she is overwhelmed with that alone, she is looking for a man and successfully advertises Hans van Gent. On the wedding day, a jealous cousin leaked a letter from Ghent's cousin, in which Ghent made derogatory comments about the marriage. Nevertheless, she married him, but from then on lived next to him rather than with him. During a company crisis, however, her husband proves himself to be someone who can actually run the business. So she gets respect for him, which gradually grows, as does her love for him.
