The film was produced in autumn 1915 by the Allgemeine Kinematographen- und Films-Gesellschaft Philipp & Pressburger Wien on behalf of May-Film GmbH Berlin. It was three files 1,300 meters long, about 63 minutes. The world premiere took place on January 21, 1916 in Vienna.

The Berlin police imposed a youth ban on him in June 1917 (No. 40717), and the film had to be shortened to 1,031 meters, about 50 minutes. The German premiere took place in September 1917 in the Kali Berlin.
