The five-act film was produced by May Film (F-Nr. 5), Joe May's company. The Berlin police issued a youth ban in November 1915 and also banned it for the duration of the war (Nr. 38649, Nr. 102895 / 15). After revision, it was censored and approved again in 1916, so that it had its premiere on March 10, 1916 in the Tauentzienpalast in Berlin. The Munich police forbade the announcement as a detective film (No. 20424, 20425, 20426, 20427).
