Heinrich Peer

Heinrich Friedrich Peer (born November 25, 1867 in Vienna ; † May 13, 1927 there ) was an Austrian actor .

Life

He began his career at the Raimund Theater and began an engagement in Esseg in 1892 . After a stopover in Innsbruck , he made his Berlin debut in 1902 at the Intimate Theater.

Peer was mainly an operetta actor, especially at the Theater des Westens . There he was the main actor in performances of, among others, Oscar Straus ' A Waltz Dream or Franz Lehár's The Merry Widow . Since 1911 he worked as a supporting actor often in films. Only in the years 1918/19 did he get a leading role with the character of the (Kriminal-) Rat Arnhem in a short-lived detective series of the William Kahn film ( The Green Vampire , The Wandering Eye , Just a Toothpick ).
