action

Attaché van der Velden stole a pearl while he was a student. In order not to be arrested, he hid them in a skeleton that he prepared. Years later, during a visit to Consul Markutius, he discovers this very skeleton. Van der Velden tries to steal the lower leg, in which the pearl is located, unnoticed by means of a deception maneuver. But Joe Deebs finds out about him, especially since van der Velden made the mistake of swapping the right lower leg for a left one.

The film was shot in Partenkirchen . The film has a length of four acts at 1074 and 1071 meters, which corresponds to about 52 minutes. The Reich film censorship imposed a youth ban on him on July 28, 1920 (No. 172). The first performance of the silent film took place on August 13, 1920 in the UT am Kudamm in Berlin.
