Kurt Richter (film architect)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kurt Richter (* 1885 in Krems an der Donau , Austria ; † 1960 in Salzburg , ibid) was an Austrian film architect . From the 1910s he worked in the film business. Richter, who had already made a name for himself as an architect , was involved in more than 90 film productions and for many years he was the main architect of Ernst Lubitsch's films . He often worked with Hans Poelzig ; his work was described as impressive and was often held in the expressionist style. With the end of the silent film era in 1929, Richter's trail was completely lost.

For a while Richter was the neighbor Harry Liedtkes at Scharmützelsee.
