Aenderly Lebius

Aenderly Lebius (born December 6, 1867 in Tilsit , † March 5, 1921 in Berlin ) was a German character actor with three decades of stage presence.

Life

The merchant's son had studied law for six semesters at the universities of Berlin and Leipzig before he switched to acting in 1890. Lebius took acting lessons from his famous colleague Emanuel Reicher and started his first engagement in Potsdam .

He came to Königsberg via Düsseldorf in 1895 and to Stettin in 1897 . Two years later Lebius moved to the Berlin 'Neue Theater' and in 1901 finally to the Hanoverian 'Residenztheater'. Afterwards he returned to Berlin for the remaining years of his life and went from there on numerous tour stages on guest tours.

Lebius was initially able to record successes as a bon vivant and character actor. Only at the beginning of the First World War did the East Prussian begin to film. Mostly he was seen in small roles as a strange or humorous type.

The actor committed suicide in early March 1921.
