Armen Eva Maria is a German silent film melodrama from 1916 by Joe May with his wife Mia May in the title role.

action

Princess Eva Maria is the daughter of Prince Raßen and, according to his will, is to marry Prince Tassilo. But since she doesn't love him, she bucks from home and marries the sensitive and attractive painter Hans Flotow. But the artist is a greyhound, seizes her fortune and runs off to America with a chanson singer. Thereupon poor Eva Maria returns to her upper class circles and marries the landowner and baron Dr. Devero.

Production notes

Poor Eva Maria passed film censorship in December 1916, was banned from young people and opened in cinemas on December 29, 1916. The Austrian version of the five-act act was around 1,700 meters long and had its Vienna premiere on March 1, 1918.
