Hermann Luchterhand

Hermann Karl Wilhelm Luchterhand (born October 18, 1886 in Fürstenwerder ; † 1950 ) was a German publisher .

Life

Luchterhand was born in Fürstenwerder ( Prenzlau district , today Uckermark district ) as the fifth child of a farmer. He worked in the public service as an employee of an authority and acquired knowledge in the areas of tax and finance. In 1924 he became self-employed and founded a tax consultancy with Alfred Klietsch in the legal form of a general partnership . Klietsch returned his shares in the joint company to Luchterhand in the 1920s. Hermann Luchterhand Verlag, today Luchterhand Fachverlag and Luchterhand Literaturverlag, developed from the publications of the tax office . In 1936 Luchterhand left the company due to the political situation and granted Eduard Reifferscheid a general power of attorney . It was not finally clarified whether Luchterhand was a member of the NSDAP .
