Hermann Müller (politician, 1935)

Hermann Müller (born October 17, 1935 in Fachbach ; † December 31, 2013 in Wiesbaden ) was a German politician ( CDU ), from 1978 to 2002 mayor of Idstein .

Life

Hermann Müller was a member of the district council of the Untertaunuskreis from 1960 to 1964 before he became a member of the district committee of the Untertaunuskreis from 1964 to 1974. From 1971 he was chairman of the CDU parliamentary group. 1968–1974 he was also a member of the representative assembly of the Rhein-Main-Taunus planning association. Since 1989 he was a member of the district assembly of the Rheingau-Taunus-Kreis .

From 1973 to 1978 he worked as a full-time first city councilor for Limburg an der Lahn .

1972 to 1974 he was city councilor and parliamentary group leader of the CDU in Idstein . In 1978 he was elected full-time mayor of Idstein by the city council. He held this office for 24 years and was re-elected three times (first by the city council, then by direct elections by the citizens). His successor as mayor was Gerhard Krum (SPD).

He was married and had four grown children.
