Hermann Trescher

Hermann Trescher (born September 23, 1849 in Liebenwerda ; † July 5, 1890 in Torgau ) was a German journalist and writer .

Life

Born in Liebenwerda in the Elbe-Elster region in 1849 , Trescher studied law in Leipzig , Halle and Berlin. As a journalist, he worked as an editor for the Deutsche Roman-Zeitung in Berlin and later for the Democratic newspaper . Furthermore, he was co-editor and from 1886 to 1889 editor-in-chief of the Volks-Zeitung and columnist . He eventually had to give up his position as editor-in-chief of the newspaper for health reasons. His successor in this function was Franz Mehring . Most recently he appeared as a theater critic in the Saale newspaper published in Halle / Saale . In 1890, health reasons forced Trescher to give up this position again and he moved to live with his mother in Torgau, where he ultimately died in July of the same year.
