Hermann Tunica
Hermann August Theodor Tunica (born October 9, 1826 in Braunschweig ; † June 11, 1907 there ) was a German painter . He is the son of Christian Tunica .
Tunica completed his training in Brussels and Paris, among others, where he studied and copied the battle pictures of Horace Vernet . In the Alps he painted from nature before he returned to Braunschweig and first worked as a freelance painter, then - after financial difficulties and depression - as a drawing teacher at various schools.
Tunica created portraits and historical pictures, among others King Friedrich Wilhelm IV. And King George V. let him paint them. In 1881 he was appointed court painter.
