Hermann Weber (civil servant)

Hermann Karl Weber (born September 6, 1939 in St. Pölten ; † August 10, 2017 in Vienna ) was an Austrian civil servant of the Austrian Federal Railways and section head in the Federal Ministry of Transport .

Life

In 1954 he completed an apprenticeship with the Austrian Federal Railways, in the second educational path he completed an external Matura from 1963 to 1968 . From 1959 to 1968 he was dispatcher at the Austrian Federal Railways, most recently as Federal Railroad Adjunct at St. Pölten Central Station . Weber later moved to the Commercial Directorate of the General Directorate of the Austrian Federal Railways.

From 1968 to 1972 Weber completed a law degree at the University of Vienna , where he was awarded a Dr. iuris obtained his doctorate. From 1976 to 1981 he was head of the ministerial office in the Federal Ministry of Transport as a federal railroad supervisor and later as a federal railroad central inspector.

From 1983 to 1992 Weber, initially as a senior councilor , succeeded Herbert Metzner as head of Section IV (road traffic) in the Federal Ministry for Public Economics and Transport . From 1993 he was head of Section IV (Post and Telecommunications, later Supreme Post and Telecommunications Authority, Transport Labor Inspectorate) of the Federal Ministry for Science and Transport , most recently he headed Section III (Innovation and Telecommunications), where he worked in 2004 Retired and was replaced by Andreas Reichhardt . Weber carried the official title of Section Head .

From 1998 Hermann Weber was the editor of the Teleletter magazine , a supplement to the Wiener Zeitung , which deals with telecommunications .

Hermann Weber died on August 10, 2017 and was buried on August 29, 2017 in the urn garden in the arcade courtyard of the Simmering fire hall (department basement, group 2, number 11).
