Hermann von Brandt

Hermann Wilhelm Karl August von Brandt (born April 15, 1828 in Königsberg (Prussia) , † June 5, 1902 in Hanover ) was a German administrative and police officer.

Life

Hermann von Brandt, from Erfurt , studied law at the University of Halle . In 1848 he became a member of the Corps Marchia Halle . After graduating, he entered the Prussian civil service and was initially a government assessor. In December 1857 he was appointed district administrator of the Lyck district. In June 1866 he became district administrator in the district of Gdansk . In 1867 he was appointed provisional and the following year he was finally appointed police chief of Hanover . He held the office until his retirement in 1895.
