Heroes of Origin is the first studio album by the US thrash metal band Hatriot . It was released on January 25, 2013 by Massacre Records .

Origin and background

The music for the album was written by guitarist Kosta Vavratakis while singer Steve Souza was responsible for the lyrics. Three songs on the album are from the band's 2011 demo . Only the song The Fear Within was not used. Was added Heroes of Origin in Trident Studios in California City Martinez . The album was produced, mixed and mastered by Juan Urteaga . The album cover was designed by Mark Devito. According to singer Steve Souza, the album title refers to his band, which is the New World Order. The song Murder American Style refers to the American phenomenon of small town killers . According to Souza, this is a well-integrated, popular person in society, before it suddenly becomes known that this person is in truth a serial killer. For the song Blood Stained Wings one was music video rotated.

reception

Thomas Meyns from the online magazine Metalnews described Heroes of Origin as "a convincing Thrash Metal album all along the line" and recommended it to all those who sorely miss the singer Souza at Exodus . Meyns awarded 5.5 out of seven points. Thomas Kupfer from the German magazine Rock Hard complained that the album "needed some tempo variations in order to serve as a milestone". Copper awarded 7.5 out of ten points. Tom Küpers from the German magazine Metal Hammer criticized the “ bass / drums department headed by Steve Souza's sons , which is still in training”. Because of "some high-speed rumblers", Küpers awarded four out of seven points.
