Steve "Zetro" Souza (born March 24, 1964 ) is an American singer. He is a member of the bands Exodus , Dublin Death Patrol and Hatriot . He was previously active in Legacy, the forerunner of the wills .

Career

Souza became the singer of the band Legacy in 1983. Two years later he sang the demo First Strike is Deadly , but shortly afterwards switched to the band Exodus because he hoped for better opportunities there. There he succeeded Paul Baloff, who had previously been fired at Exodus. On Souza's recommendation, Chuck Billy became the new singer in Legacy, who later renamed themselves Testament. Since Baloff was extremely popular with the fans, Souza initially had a difficult time and was sometimes pelted with beer bottles at the first concerts. Souza sang for Exodus on four studio albums before the band split up in 1992.

Souza turned his back on the music business and began vocational retraining and later worked as a foreman at a company that installs security doors. In 2001 Exodus reformed a second time with Baloff as the singer. However, after Baloff died of a stroke a year later , Souza returned to Exodus and sang the album Tempo of the Damned . After internal disputes, Souza was fired in mid-2005 and replaced by Rob Dukes. Steve Souza has been singing with Exodus again since June 2014.

Together with Chuck Billy Souza founded the band Dublin Death Patrol, who have released two studio albums so far. In 2009 he sang on the album Soverign by the Canadian band Tenet . Two years later Souza founded the band Hatriot together with guitarist Kosta Vavratakis, in which Souza's sons Cody and Nicholas now also play.
