John Tempesta

John Tempesta (born September 26, 1964 in New York City ) is an American drummer who was active for the bands Exodus , Testament and White Zombie , among others . He also played in Rob Zombie's solo band . He is currently (2010) the drummer for The Cult .

Career

Tempesta was initially a drum technician for the heavy metal band Anthrax . He is also mentioned in the anthrax version of the drinking song Friggin 'in the Riggin' , the lyrics of which also covered the band's crew members. In the early 1990s he was initially a member of Exodus, before briefly switching to Testament in 1994, where he recorded the album Low as a guest musician . He can also be heard again on later releases of the band, such as First Strike Still Deadly from 2001, an album with new recordings of old pieces. He has worked for Rob Zombie and White Zombie since the mid-1990s.

In 2000 he played on a piece of Tony Iommi's self-titled solo album . From 2004 to 2005 he was employed at Helmet . Also in 2004 he founded the band Scum of the Earth with his brother Mike Tempesta (guitar) and the former Rob Zombie guitarist Mike Riggs . In February 2006 he joined The Cult , in 2007 he recorded the album Born into This .

On Scott Ian's 50th birthday, Tempesta played a set of twelve Mother Superior songs with him, Pearl Aday , Joey Vera ( Armored Saint , Fates Warning ) and Jim Wilson ( Mother Superior ). The band Motor Sister emerged from this performance and released their debut album on March 6, 2015.
