Motor Sister is an American hard rock / classic rock band from Los Angeles . The band is signed to Metal Blade and has so far released a studio album.

history

The idea for Motor Sister came up at the end of 2013, when the anthrax guitarist Scott Ian wanted Mother Superior , one of his favorite bands, to reunite for his 50th birthday and wanted to play with the band himself at a concert. Ian's wife Pearl Aday then contacted Mother Superior's singer and guitarist Jim Wilson , who immediately accepted. The band was completed by bassist Joey Vera (including Fates Warning , Armored Saint ) and drummer John Tempesta (including The Cult , ex- White Zombie ).

Based on the song Little Motor Sister , the band was called Motor Sister and played the concert on December 31, 2013 in Ian's house. That same evening the musicians decided to record and publish the twelve tracks they played. Due to the positive reaction to the concert, Mike Faley, A&R of Metal Blade, found out about the band and offered Motor Sister a contract. The album was recorded live with producer Jay Ruston within two days.

In the meantime, the band played their first “real” concert on February 12, 2015 in Brooklyn . The album Ride was released on March 6, 2015. Singer Jim Wilson described Ride as a newly recorded greatest hits album.

In September 2018 the band wanted to start work on a second studio album, which should contain entirely new compositions and be released in early 2019. It wasn't until March 2020, however, before recording with producer Jay Ruston began.
