Love is an album by the British rock band The Cult . The album was released in 1985 by Beggars Banquet Records . The record was brought to market in almost 30 countries around the world and sold around 2.5 million times. With this record, The Cult achieved its commercial breakthrough in England and the USA, with success largely achieved worldwide. According to critics, the album remained underrated in the USA.

The album was recorded at Jacob's Studio in Farnham , Surrey , between July and August 1985.

Several European CD releases, as well as the Canadian and Australian releases, contained two bonus tracks: Little Face (track 4) and Judith (track 11).

The album was re-released in various versions and remastered in 2000 and 2009.

Allmusic's Eduardo Rivadavia wrote that the album benefited from a “wonderful sense of freedom.” He called Love the “purest moment” of The Cult. He awarded four out of five stars.
