Chris Wyse (born July 15, 1969 in Queens , New York ) is an American bassist and singer who is known for his appearances with Jerry Cantrell , The Cult , Ozzy Osbourne , JC and Mick Jagger . Wyse has been with The Cult since 2006 and is the vocalist and bassist for Owl, a band he founded in 2007.

Career

Wyse was a first-generation Irish-born American and born in Queens, New York. He discovered the music of Kiss , The Doors and Led Zeppelin in elementary school and was inspired to play bass by Iron Maiden's Steve Harris . First he played in local New York bands. His innovative bass playing was recognized there early on. After a successful collaboration as a studio musician for Steve Vai , Wyse moved to Los Angeles in 1990. After performing with the likes of Chris Pitman and Paul D'Amour , Wyse worked with producer Bob Rock . In 2001 Wyse starred on The Cult's Beyond Good and Evil album, which rock produced. In 2006 he became full-time bassist for The Cult, toured worldwide with the band and also worked on the band's next album. In 2004, Wyse was recruited for Ozzy Osbourne by drummer Mike Bordin . He played on Ozzy's Under Cover album.
