Herstedøster Sogn is a parish municipality ( Danish : Sogn ) in the municipality of Albertslund in the suburbs of the Danish capital Copenhagen . Until 1970 she belonged to Harde Smørum Herred in what was then København's office . With the dissolution of the Harden structure, the parish was included in the Albertslund municipality , which remained unchanged with the municipal reform on January 1, 2007 , but has since belonged to the Hovedstaden region .

On January 1st, 2020 there were 9,649 inhabitants in the parish, Herstedøster Kirke is on the territory of the municipality.

Neighboring communities are Opstandelseskirkens Sogn in the south and Herstedvester Sogn in the west , as well as in the Ballerup municipality in the north Pederstrup Sogn , in the northeast Skovlunde Sogn and in the east in the area of Glostrup municipality the parish Glostrup Sogn .
