Hertha von Hagen

Hertha von Hagen (born February 20, 1876 in Agram , Austria-Hungary , † June 2, 1962 in Munich , Germany ) was an Austrian theater and film actress. She also appeared under the names Emilie Freiin Popp von Milosevich and Baroness Emilie von Kramulin .

Life

During her time, von Hagen was best known as a stage actress. She was married to the actor Gustav Waldau (actually Gustav Freiherr von Rummel, 1871-1958). In the 1920s she lived with him in Thomas Mann's neighborhood in Munich and saw theater performances by the lay association of German mimics founded by Erika Mann , which played “in the living rooms and gardens of befriended neighbors”. She and her husband belonged to the ensemble of the Bayerisches Schauspielhaus for several decades. She died of pneumonia and was buried in the Bogenhauser Friedhof.
