Open air theater

Hertme is one of the three localities in the Borne municipality in the Dutch province of Overijssel . It has 510 inhabitants and is located in a forest area in the Twente region , about seven kilometers north of Hengelo .

The open-air theater in the heart of Hertme is the attraction of the village. From the mid-1950s to the mid-1960s, the open-air theater was best known for the Hertme Passion Play, which was revived in the 2010s. The Africa Festival and the Metropool Open Air Concerts attract thousands of visitors from the Netherlands and the rest of Europe.

The neo-Gothic St. Stephen's Church is located in the village.
