Tancon is a French municipality with 542 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in Saône-et-Loire in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté . It belongs to the Arrondissement Charolles and the community association La Clayette Chauffailles en Brionnais, founded in 2016 .

Tancon is located about 50 kilometers west-southwest of Mâcon in the hills of Brionnais and Charolais . The municipality is crossed by the Botoret River. Neighboring municipalities of Tancon are Châteauneuf and Saint-Maurice-lès-Châteauneuf in the north, Chassigny-sous-Dun in the northeast, Chauffailles in the east, Saint-Igny-de-Roche in the east and southeast, Coublanc in the south, Maizilly in the southwest and Saint- Martin-de-Lixy to the west.
