Uxeau is a French municipality with 519 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Saone-et-Loire in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté (2015: Burgundy ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement Charolles , the canton Gueugnon and the municipality association Pays de Gueugnon . The inhabitants are called Uxellois .

geography

Uxeau is located in the historic county of Charolais , about 80 kilometers southwest of Mâcon . The river Arroux partly forms the eastern boundary of the municipality. Uxeau is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Issy-l'Évêque in the north, Sainte-Radegonde and Toulon-sur-Arroux in the northeast, Vendenesse-sur-Arroux in the southeast and south, La Chapelle-au-Mans in the southwest and Grury in the west.
