Cronat is a French municipality with 535 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Saone-et-Loire in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté (before 2016 Bourgogne ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement Charolles and the canton Digoin (until 2015 Bourbon-Lancy ).

Cronat is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Montambert in the north, La Nocle-Maulaix in the north and northeast, Saint-Seine in the east, Maltat in the southeast, Vitry-sur-Loire in the south, Saint-Martin-des-Lais in the southwest, Gannay-sur -Loire in the west and Saint-Hilaire-Fontaine in the north-west.
