Saint-Hilaire-Fontaine is surrounded by the neighboring communities Verneuil in the north and northwest, Cercy-la-Tour in the north, Montambert in the east, Cronat in the southeast, Gannay-sur-Loire in the south, Lamenay-sur-Loire in the west and southwest as well Charrin to the west and northwest.
