Sermages is about 57 kilometers east of Nevers on the edge of the Morvan . Sermages is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Péreuse in the north, Dommartin in the north and north-east, Saint-Hilaire-en-Morvan in the north-east, Saint-Léger-de-Fougeret in the east, Moulins-Engilbert in the south and south-west and Maux in the west and Northwest.
