Gien-sur-Cure is a French municipality with 96 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Nièvre in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté (before 2016 Bourgogne ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Château-Chinon (Ville) and the canton of Château-Chinon (until 2015 Montsauche-les-Settons ).

Gien-sur-Cure is located about 70 kilometers east-northeast of Nevers in the Morvan and on the Cure River . Gien-sur-Cure is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Moux-en-Morvan in the north and northeast, Ménessaire in the east, Cussy-en-Morvan in the southeast, Anost in the south and Planchez in the west.
