Aunay-en-Bazois is a French municipality with 228 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Nièvre in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté (before 2016 Bourgogne ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Château-Chinon (Ville) and the canton of Château-Chinon (until 2015 Châtillon-en-Bazois ).

Aunay-en-Bazois is about 38 kilometers east-northeast of Nevers . Aunay-en-Bazois is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Sardy-lès-Épiry and Épiry in the north, Montreuillon in the east and northeast, Blismes in the east, Chougny in the south and southeast, Ougny in the south, Mont-et-Marré in the southwest and Achun in the West.
