Montigny-sur-Canne is a French municipality with 152 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Nièvre in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté (before 2016 Bourgogne ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Château-Chinon (Ville) and the canton of Luzy (until 2015 Châtillon-en-Bazois ).

Montigny-sur-Canne is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Biches in the north, Limanton in the east and north-east, Isenay in the east and south-east, Saint-Gratien-Savigny in the south, Diennes-Aubigny in the west and south-west and Fertrève in the west and north-west.
