Onlay is a French municipality with 148 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Nièvre in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté (before 2016 Bourgogne ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Château-Chinon (Ville) and the canton of Château-Chinon (until 2015 Châtillon-en-Bazois ). The inhabitants are called onlayens .

geography

Onlay is about sixty kilometers east-southeast of Nevers in the Morvan . Onlay is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Léger-de-Fougeret in the north and east, Achun in the north and northeast, Villapourçon in the east and southeast, Ougny in the southeast, Préporché in the south and southwest and Noulins-Engilbert in the west and northwest.
