Montsauche-les-Settons (in local dialect: Monsouèsse ) is a French municipality with 522 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Nièvre in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté . It belongs to the arrondissement of Château-Chinon (Ville) and the canton of Château-Chinon (until 2015: canton of Montsauche-les-Settons ). The inhabitants are called Montsauchois .

geography

Montsauche-les-Settons is located about 77 kilometers west-southwest of Dijon in the Morvan and on the Cure , which is dammed here to form the so-called Lac des Settons . Montsauche-les-Settons is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Dun-les-Places in the north, Gouloux in the east and north-east, Moux-en-Morvan in the south and south-east, Planchez in the south, Ouroux-en-Morvan in the west and Brassy in the north-west.
