Chougny is a French municipality with 76 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Nièvre in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté (before 2016 Bourgogne ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Château-Chinon (Ville) and the canton of Château-Chinon (Ville) (until 2015 Châtillon-en-Bazois ). The inhabitants are called Chougniens .

geography

Chougny is about 55 kilometers east-northeast of Nevers on the edge of the Morvan . Chougny is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Aunay-en-Bazois in the north and west, Blismes in the northeast, Dun-sur-Grandry in the east, Saint-Péreuse in the southeast, Maux in the south, Tamnay-en-Bazois in the southwest and Ougny in the west.
