Montigny-en-Morvan is located about 80 kilometers south-southeast of Auxerre . The Yonne limits the municipality to the north. Montigny-en-Morvan is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Mhère in the north, Chaumard in the east, Châtin in the south and south-east, Blismes in the south and west and Montreuillon in the north-west.
