Montreuillon is a French municipality with 261 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Nièvre in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté (before 2016 Bourgogne ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Clamecy (until 2017 Château-Chinon (Ville) ) and the canton of Château-Chinon (until 2015, Château-Chinon (Ville) ).

Montreuillon is located about 55 kilometers east-northeast of Nevers . Neighboring municipalities of Montreuillon are Cervon and Vauclaix in the north, Mhère in the east and northeast, Montigny-en-Morvan in the east and southeast, Blismes in the south and southeast, Aunay-en-Bazois in the southwest, Epiry in the west and Mouron-sur-Yonne in the Northwest.
