Metz-le-Comte is about fifty kilometers south-southeast of Auxerre . The Yonne limits the municipality to the west. Neighboring municipalities of Metz-le-Comte are Brèves in the north and north-west, La Maison-Dieu in the north and north-east, Teigny in the east, Vignol in the south-east, Flez-Cuzy in the south, Tannay in the south-west, Amazy in the west and Asnois in the west and north-west .
