Anthien is about 56 kilometers south-southeast of Auxerre . Anthien is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Moissy-Moulinot in the north and northwest, Neuffontaines in the north and northeast, Pouques-Lormes in the east and northeast, Magny-Lormes in the southeast, Corbigny in the south and southwest and Ruages in the west.
