Vareilles is located about 55 kilometers west of Mâcon in the hills of Brionnais and Charolais . Neighboring municipalities of Vareilles are Amanzé in the north, Saint-Symphorien-des-Bois in the northeast, Baudemont in the east and southeast, Saint-Laurent-en-Brionnais in the south, Vauban in the southwest, Saint-Christophe-en-Brionnais in the west and Oyé in the Northwest.
