Saint-Maurice-lès-Châteauneuf is a French municipality with 569 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in Saône-et-Loire in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté . It belongs to the Arrondissement Charolles and the community association La Clayette Chauffailles en Brionnais, founded in 2016 . The inhabitants are called Castelnovimauriciens .

Saint-Maurice-lès-Châteauneuf is about 56 kilometers west-southwest of Mâcon in the rolling hills of Brionnais and Charolais . Neighboring municipalities of Saint-Maurice-lès-Châteauneuf are Vauban in the north and northwest, Saint-Laurent-en-Brionnais in the north, Chassigny-sous-Dun in the east, Tancon in the south and southeast, Châteauneuf and Saint-Martin-de-Lixy in the South, Saint-Edmond in the southwest and Ligny-en-Brionnais in the west and northwest.
