Gibles is about 39 kilometers west of Mâcon in the hills of Brionnais and Charolais . Neighboring municipalities of Gibles are Ozolles in the north, Montmelard in the east and northeast, Matour in the east, Aigueperse in the southeast, Châtenay in the south, Varennes-sous-Dun in the southwest, Curbigny in the west and Colombier-en-Brionnais and Bois-Sainte-Marie in the Northwest.

In the municipal area is the 771 meter high Mont Saint-Cyr .
