L'Hôpital-le-Mercier is a French municipality with 303 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Saone-et-Loire in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté (before 2016 Bourgogne ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Charolles and the canton of Paray-le-Monial . The inhabitants are called Hospitois .

L'Hôpital-le-Mercier is in the Charolais countryside on the Loire . Neighboring municipalities of L'Hôpital-le-Mercier are Saint-Yan in the north and east, Montceaux-l'Étoile in the south-east, Vindecy in the south, Luneau in the west and south-west and Chassenard in the west and north-west.
Much of the Saint-Yan airfield is located in the municipality .
