Hervé Guillou (born March 24, 1955 ) is a defense and nuclear energy entrepreneur. He currently works as CEO at the industrial company DCNS .

Life

Hervé Guillou comes from a Breton seafaring family. After graduating from the École polytechnique polytechnique in 1973, he studied at the French engineering school ENSTA ParisTech from 1976 and became a nuclear engineer in the national institute for nuclear science and technology in 1980. He also holds a diploma from the INSEAD Business School and is an administrative specialist certified by the IFA / Sciences PO .

From DCN to DGA

In 1978, Hervé Guillou began his career in the Direction des Constructions Navales (DCN - Shipbuilding Directorate) in Cherbourg as an engineer specializing in the security of Rubis nuclear submarines. He then got the responsibility for the nuclear propulsion project for nuclear submarines, the Le Triomphant missiles, at DCN Indret (1981-1989).

In 1989 he became a member of the Direction générale de l'Armement (DGA - General Directorate for Armaments Procurement) in the office of Yves Sillard, then General Representative for Arms Procurement, as a consultant, then as an office manager. Together with Jean-Marie Poimbœuf, he contributed to the amendment of the statutes of the DCN. Between 1993 and 1996 he was head of the Joint Project Office Horizon , an anti-aircraft frigate program. He set up the office of the three-country program (United Kingdom, Italy, France) in London.

Technicatome

From 1996 to 2003 he was Deputy General Director of Technicatome, an engineering and construction company specializing in nuclear reactors for ship propulsion and nuclear research facilities in Saclay. At the same time, he was President of Principia (engineering solutions in the fields of shipping, offshore and energy) and Technoplus Industries (high-precision mechanics) from 1989 to 2003.

EADS

In 2003, Guillou joined the EADS Group as CEO of Space Transportation , the Franco-German division responsible in particular for Ariane launch vehicles, orbit infrastructures and French defense missiles.

From 2005 to 2011 he worked as CEO at the Munich-based company Defense and Communications Systems, now Cassidian Systems. In 2009, he and DCNS and Rohde & Schwarz were awarded the RIFAN-2 contract to set up an intranet for the air and naval forces. In 2010 he helped found Signalis, a subsidiary of Cassidian (60%) and Atlas Elektronik (40%), which specializes in surveillance solutions for the sea and port.

In 2011, he founded Cassidian Cybersecurity in Elancourt (78), where he assumed the position of CEO before becoming Corporate Executive, Defense & Security at EADS in 2012. From 2012 to 2014 he was Senior Advisor Defense and Security at EADS.

In July 2014 he was appointed as the new CEO of DCNS to succeed Patrick Boissier .

Hervé Guillou is married to Marion Guillou, President of Agreenium and company administrator, and has three children.
