Herz-Jesu-Kirche (Kostenbach)
The parish church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is a Catholic church in Kostenbach in Saarland , a district of Löstertal , town of Wadern , district of Merzig-Wadern . She bears the patronage of devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus . In the list of monuments of the Saarland the church building is a single monument listed.
Building history
The original church was built from 1887 to 1889 according to a design by the architect Wilhelm Hector ( Saarbrücken-St. Johann ) in neo-Romanesque style. As it was, as is not uncommon in other places, by far not sufficient in size until the end of the 1960s due to the steadily growing number of parishioners, it was enlarged from 1968 to 1972. This time the architect Peter Van Stipelen was commissioned. Everything from the third longship bay was torn down and replaced by two triangular transepts . A new apse was also built.
organ
The organ of the Herz-Jesu-Kirche was built in 1910 by Mamert Hock ( Saarlouis ). It was slightly reworked in 1930 by Johannes Klais ( Bonn ). The instrument has 15 stops on two manuals and a pedal . The playing and stop actions are purely pneumatic. Around 2.5 km of lead pipe are laid in the entire organ for the action alone. The disposition is as follows:
