Herzbewohner is the first studio album by German pop singer Kerstin Ott . It was released on December 2, 2016 by Polydor / Universal Music .

History of origin

Kerstin Ott recorded the song Die immer laughs in 2005 in a small private recording studio for a friend who was ill. The DJ duo Stereoact discovered the song in 2015 and published a Deep House - Remix on the record label Kontor . The song became a hit and made Kerstin Ott known almost overnight. The Polydor / Universal label takes the musician, who previously worked as a painter and varnisher, under contract. Together with Thorsten Brötzmann and Lukas Hainer, they wrote and produced the album Herzbewohner , which was released on December 2, 2016.

Her hit Die immer lacht is represented in two different versions on the album: as acoustic and as a mix version.

Music genre

On her first album, Kerstin Ott combines “emotional, German-language hits with catchy club and dance beats .” Elements from pop and folk are also represented on the album. The texts are personal and mostly formulated in a constructive manner, but with a melancholy basic tenor.

reception

Schlagerportal.com wrote: “On the CD Herzbewohner , Kerstin Ott combines catchy melodic and deep house sounds with expressive club beats and a relaxed acoustic guitar. Add to that Kerstin's extraordinary, almost addicting voice - and the recipe for success is ready. ” Schlager.de emphasized the“ idiosyncratic sound between dance floor and campfire atmosphere ”and the autobiographical texts.

Singles

The two singles Scheissmelodie and Lebe laut were decoupled . The former was released on August 5, 2016 and reached number 31 in the German charts as well as a gold record .
